At the end of May, iconic Irish band, The Frames, finally held their two-year-delayed 30th anniversary (32nd?) gig in the lush surrounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. On keys for this special show was multi-instrumentalist and vocalist ROMY and I was over the moon when she chose a Saturn Cottage Industries piece for the occasion. It’s one thing to see a friend at home on stage at a huge outdoor gig, it’s quite another to have your own work up there with her. We went to school together, imagining our creative futures, and it’s a gift to reflect on such a moment, like a snapshot from my wilder dreams. I’m not over it, and won’t be for a while!
